guy manuel de homem christo wakes up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night somewhere in France. He takes a moment to regain his composure, breathing nervously and shallowly. His dark hair is matted against his forehead, he briefly contemplates taking a shower before returning to bed. Then he remembers why he awoke. A long-fingered hand gropes across the bed side table, finding the baguette that had been toasted before his very eyes in his nightmare. He holds it close to his shaky form.
